The MiniSelect Remote Control System - Beeper © 2008

The MiniSelect Beeper system is basically the MiniSelect receiver which has been Configured for hard wire operation.

This means that all functions can be Selected using a single Switch.

Because of its versatility the beeper can be customized according to the users needs both in terms of switching preference and function selection.

The low power design means it will continue to operate in the background and you will come to rely on its predictable behaviour which in time will become second nature.

Operating The Beeper.

Operation of the beeper it’s self is a simple matter of depressing & holding down the appropriate switching device, connected to [ plug No.2.] until the desired count / function has been reached.

Once the switch has been depressed and held, the beeper count up through the functions is automatic and will continue until count 10 and then a continuous tone will be heard

Remember there are only 9 functions, the extra count [10] is an escape eg, If  the original target count/function was exceeded the user simply continues to hold down the switch until the terminal count, [10 ] Releasing the switch at this stage ensures no accidental function selection and simply start again for the intended count/function.

If the switch is released within 100 mS from the last count then that Function / Cycle is selected and will be executed a few mS later. Assuming the correct output circuit having first being configured ….  [ See loom information.]

[Note a] All default momentary functions can be prolonged by pressing and holding the switch,50 mS after the initial selection for the required duration.

The next count becomes available half a second after the previous momentary function is completed.

If the switch in not released within 100mS after the terminal count 10 then a continuous tone will signal the terminal count has been exceeded or a current switching error ensues which effectively will lock out the system.

The rule of thumb is to Release the switch immediately after the relevant count is heard for this will have the desired effect.

It should be remembered that the beeper can be customized to the users needs, so whilst the beeper counts remains the same, the resulting function may very between different users and vehicle type.

Configuration:

There is one push button switch and an audible beeper:-

One Beep: Horn - When the user holds down the push switch for one beep, this will causes the rx to activate the horn. The horn will remain active for the default period of .5 seconds. This period can be user defined see [Note a] above.

Two Beeps: Left Indicator - When the user holds down the push switch for two beeps, On release this will cause the rx to activate the left indicator, which will remain active until the switch is operated for two beeps again or three beeps to operate the right indicator - see below.

Three Beeps: Right Indicator - When the user holds down the push switch for three beeps, this will cause the rx to activate the  right indicator. When the user releases the switch the right indicator remains activated. The indicator will remain activated until switch is operated for three beeps again or two beeps to operate the right indicator.

Four Beeps: Main/Dip Beam - When the user holds down the push switch for four beeps, this will cause the rx to toggle the headlights from dip to main if the lights were on. When the user releases the switch the main beam will remain active until switch is operated for four beeps again then it will toggle back to Dip.

Five Beeps: Headlight Flash - When the user holds down the push switch for five beeps, this will cause the rx to activate the flash headlights function. When the switch is released the headlights will remain active  for a default period 0.5 seconds, but this period can be user defined... [Note a] above.

Six Beeps: Wash - When the user holds down the push switch for 6 beeps this will cause the rx to activate the front wash function. When the switch is released, that wash cycle will continue until completion.

Seven Beeps: Wiper - When the user holds down the push switch for 7 beeps, this will cause the rx to activate the front wipers at their standard speed. When the user releases the switch the wipers will remain activated. The wipers will remain activated until the switch is operated for 7 beeps again, or if switch 8 is activated instead in which case the wiper II or a faster speed will be Selected.

Eight Beeps: Wipe 2 - When the user holds down the push switch for eight beeps, this will cause the rx to activate the front wipers at a faster speed setting. When the user releases the switch the wipers will  remain at that setting until switch 8 is operated again.

Nine Beeps: Rear Wipe - When the user holds down the push switch for nine beeps, this will cause rx to activate the rear wiper at its standard speed. When the user releases the switch the rear wiper will remain active. The wiper will remain active until the switch is operated for nine beeps again.

The 10th beep followed by a continuous tone means the terminal count has been exceeded in which case no functions will be selected.
